Across Ontario, high-quality public spaces - community centres, parks, and gathering halls - sit underused every single day. Tables and chairs go empty. Rooms sit quiet.
Together We Play changes that. We bring modern board games and trained facilitators into these spaces, turning them into places where neighbours meet, conversations spark, and belonging takes root.

Meet the founder
Christian Latour
Ontario Community Changemaker
Christian Latour is a bilingual educator, project manager, and lifelong Hamilton resident whose work sits at the intersection of community building, accessibility, and public space activation.
As a college professor, community volunteer, and organizer, Christian has spent over two decades investing in the region - working, volunteering, and raising his family here.

Inspired in part by his experience as a parent of a child with a disability, Christian is deeply committed to creating environments where everyone - regardless of age, ability, or background - feels genuinely welcome.
A belief in shared spaces
Christian's career and community work are rooted in the conviction that shared public spaces can strengthen civic life. Together We Play is his way of turning that belief into action - one gathering at a time.
Through accessible, bilingual community events, we help residents rediscover local gathering places and see themselves as active participants in shaping them.

Our funder
Supported by 8 80 Cities
Together We Play is made possible through the Ontario Community Changemakers (OCC) program, a micro-grant initiative run by 8 80 Cities - a Toronto-based nonprofit dedicated to creating vibrant, inclusive, people-centred communities.
Their guiding idea is beautifully simple: if a city works well for an 8-year-old and an 80-year-old, it will work well for everyone.
Through OCC, 8 80 Cities empowers local residents with funding, training, and support to bring community-building ideas to life and make public spaces more welcoming, equitable, and accessible for all.

Our journey so far
- October 2025
Together We Play is founded by Christian Latour with support from the Ontario Community Changemakers program.
- Early 2026
Event planning, venue partnerships, and facilitator training underway. Brand identity and materials finalized.
- June 2026
First community event launches at Millgrove Community Centre - bringing games, conversation, and connection to Hamilton.
- October 2026
Goal: three successful community events delivered, feedback gathered, and a stronger, more connected Hamilton.
